APBVSA MISSION STATEMENT

The APBVSA is a non-profit organization of Victim Service Units located in Police facilities throughout Alberta. The Association promotes proactive leadership, professional development and education to ensure service excellence to victims of crime and tragedy.

The APBVSA is the leading resource on victim’s issues in Alberta

Objectives

  • To identify issues for victims of crime as a group
  • To set standards for police-based victim services units that are realistic and achievable
  • To address emerging trends
  • To maintain a strong working partnership with:
    • Our respective Police agencies
    • RCMP “K” Division
    • The Solicitor General and Public Security Victims’ Programs
    • Alberta Justice
  • The APBVSA is the provincially recognized organization for victims of crime and trauma
